Remember the four MODES that I briefly discussed two lessons ago?

The first MODE and the menu is P (Programmed Auto) (page 118). It's simple. The Nikon D810 does everything for you. When you're in a hurry and don't have time to fiddle with adjustments, P is great. Easy snaps.
In the below example photo, this was shot in P MODE.
It's a tree in my backyard with some lingering snow. No adjustments. No filter. Simple.
Perhaps you want to change something? You can adjust the aperture and shutter speed by using the Main Command Dial.
On the top panel, you will find P. If you've made an adjustment there will be an * next to the P.
